The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for leading the outreach and engagement of NL Young Farmers membership and program outreach. This position will connect and collaborate with organizations to increase outreach and awareness of the program and share resources where appropriate. The Outreach Coordinator will assist with all NL Young Farmers initiatives and report to the NL Young Farmers Coordinator.
NL Young Farmers is a not-for-profit program and part of the national organization Canadian Young Farmers Forum. NL Young Farmers has a vision of empowered young Newfoundlanders and Labradorians leading an attractive and profitable agriculture industry. Our mission is to energize and educate a powerful network of young farm leaders within the province.

NL Young Farmers is a project hosted through the Newfoundland & Labrador Federation of Agriculture (NLFA), an organization that represents farmers and farm groups in the province. Our motto is “farmers helping farmers” and we believe that through sharing information and speaking with a united voice, farmers can work more effectively for the betterment of the agriculture industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the outreach and engagement of NL Young Farmers membership and program outreach
Complete analysis of current membership and levels of engagement using a strategic outreach plan of current membership and potential membership
Develop and communicate consistent messaging to current and potential members demonstrating the value and relevance of NL Young Farmers, including assisting with a Training Needs Assessment of current membership base
Assist in creating membership and program awareness by expanding reach and presenting to a broad audience, including developing pitches and presentations for industry events
Help connect and develop partnerships with identified groups and organizations
Assist in NL Young Farmers initiatives and other duties as required
Essential Skills and Attributes
Degree or diploma in office administration, communications, community services, or equivalent experience
Ability to work independently or collaboratively
Ability to effectively communicate
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong public speaking ability
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Canva, Wix, PowerPoint, etc.)
Comfortable using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube)
Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy
Experience with non-profit organizations would be an asset
Knowledge of the provincial agriculture industry would be an asset
Compensation and other details
Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $40,000 - $43,000
Vacation: 2 weeks annual paid vacation plus paid public holidays, Christmas Holidays Dec 24 -Jan 2
Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Environment: You must reside in Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador. Job location Mount Pearl, NL.
