Rhonda Thornley

Rhonda Thornley and her husband Philip operate one of the largest strawberry farms in the province. The Thornleys have three children. Rhonda is Secretary on the National Farm Business Management Council, and she sits on the Newfoundland and Labrador Horticulture Council Board of Directors.

Rhonda has been active in the agriculture community for years; she has held the positions of President of the Central Farm Women’s Association and Secretary of the Provincial Farm Women’s Association. She has also been involved with the Natural Products Marketing Board, the Farm Debt Review Board and the Newfoundland Farm Products Board of Directors

Rhonda is also no stranger to volunteer work. She has worked for 10 years as a Guide and Pathfinder leader and Secretary to the Guide council. Rhonda has also been Secretary for the Anglican Vestry, a Sunday school teacher, Leader for high school and junior high school girls’ volleyball and basketball. She has served on the Kittiwake Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors, and she has been Treasurer of the Campbellton Fire Brigade.
