Newfoundland and Labrador to host National Agriculture ConferenceDate Published: July 23, 2008The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture (NLFA) is hosting the 2008 National Agriculture Awareness Conference from August 3rd-6th at the Fairmont Hotel in St. John’s. The conference brings together agriculture awareness leaders, educators, industry professionals and partners, marketing and public relations professionals, and representatives of provincial and federal government agencies. The theme of this year’s conference is Growing Awareness.
The keynote speaker for the conference is Wendy Mesley, host of CBC Television’s Marketplace. She will be speaking on the issues of “Food Labeling and Consumer Trends”.
“The conference provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the importance of the province’s agriculture industry on the national stage while learning about innovative programs and ideas from leaders in agriculture from across the country,” said NLFA President Mervin Wiseman.
