Annual General Meeting in Gander a Success

The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture
(NLFA)’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and seminar
entitled “Newfoundland and Labrador Agriculture:
A Brighter, Safer, Prosperous Future!” was held
March 5 and 6, 2008 at the Albatross Hotel in Gander.

NLFA’s seminar and AGM provided an excellent
opportunity for farmers, government personnel, guest
presenters, and Federation representatives to network.

“Once a year the industry meets to discuss the
opportunities and challenges in our industry”,
said Federation President Merv Wiseman. “The
commodity organizations and government send representatives
to join farmers at this event where a knowledge exchange
takes place. They network and take in the presentations
from fellow industry professionals.”

This year’s AGM saw a higher turnout than last
year at approximately 125 delegates. The great early
March weather experienced throughout the province
was undoubtedly at least partially responsible for
this.
