Howard Morry

James (Jim) Purdy is a vegetable farmer, operating in Happy Valley - Goose Bay, central Labrador. Jim grew up on a 17th century, Acadian pioneered, mixed farm.

He moved to Labrador from southern Nova Scotia 12 years ago. Jim has always farmed, but mostly had an off-farm job to make a living. During his time in Nova Scotia, Jim spent a few years concentrating on non-certified organic farming. Jim also worked for many years at a Massey Ferguson farm equipment dealership.

His current plan is to retire to the farm with his partner Marge Goudie and grow lots of good food.
